Sharon Amato WilcoxSES Principal,
Sharon Amoto Wilcox
I absolutely love being the principal of Scottsville Elementary School! The ability to touch the lives of others while helping to provide for the academic, social, and emotional needs of children is such a gift to me. This gift brings me much joy and fulfillment every day of my life. My passion for children, teaching and learning, and my strong belief in a collaborative, high quality school environment are among the strengths that I bring to the Scottsville learning community.

I grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania, as a second generation Italian‐American. My mother’s first language was Italian and my courageous grandmother arrived in the United States by herself as a nun from Rome, Italy. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Education in Reading and Special Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson. I have completed post‐graduate work in Supervision and Administration from Arizona State University and the University of Phoenix. I have taught at both the elementary and middle school levels and have had various positions in administration such as, curriculum coordinator, assistant director of special education, and assistant principal at both the middle and elementary levels. I have been a middle school principal for three years and an elementary principal for ten years. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Paul and my two mini dachshunds, Toby and Cooper. I enjoy traveling, reading, making jewelry, sewing, dogs, collecting antiques, gardening, and talking with my teachers, students and parents!

Scottsville is truly a great place for children and adults alike. Never in my career have I seen such a caring, committed to student success, high quality, and learning‐centered school. Our teachers keep students the heart of their hard work. I am blessed to be a part of this wonderful school and serve as your school principal. My door is always open to you!

Sincerely,
Sharon Wilcox
