Go straight to work?

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Monticello High School prepare today's students for tomorrow's opportunities. The CTE Program provides students with:

  • Academic subject matter taught with relevance to the real world
  • Employability skills, from job-related skills to workplace ethics
  • Career pathways that link secondary and postsecondary education
  • Second-chance education and training
  • Education for additional training and degrees, especially related to workplace training, skills upgrades and career advancement.

Career and Technical Education offers courses and programs with one goal: preparing students to succeed in a world that is increasingly focused on highly skilled jobs. With economic and technical changes affecting our society, the nature and structure of work has changed. CTE courses and "pathway programs" lead to great opportunities across a variety of career studies.
