A goal in the final minute gives the Patriots a first State title.

Congratulations to Amy Sherrill and our girls soccer team.

Last week in double overtime the girls won the first regional championship in AHS girls soccer history 3-2.

They will be competing in the state semi finals on Friday, then the state finals on Saturday :-)

Congratulations to Ryann Helmers. Was just crowned the 3200 5A State track champion.

Congratulations to Fay Cunningham, Abby Baum and our forensic team.  Kevin Zong, this weekend at the NCFL Tournament in Louisville, KY, made it to the second day of Extemporaneous Speaking finals.  This is quite an achievement. Kevin will be attending Cornell University in the fall where he plans on continuing his forensics involvement.

Congratulations to Cathy Coffman and our AHS Crew rowing team.

Eleven of the twenty members of the AHS Crew Team participated in the Scholastic National Regatta in Camden, NJ recently.  Six of those athletes in three boats made it to the finals in their respective boat classes.  The lightweight girls double of Erin O'hara and Hillary Lewis place sixth in the finals.  Jake Pierce and Hugh Rickard placed fourth in the lightweight boys' double.  In the Senior Girls double, Emmy Wuensch and Eliza MacKnight placed second, which is the highest medal finish for any Albemarle boat.  Scholastic Nationals draws crews from all over the country, including Canada.
