The Drama Department won 1st Place this past Saturday for the VHSL 5-D South Theatre Competition. Liz Catchings also won "Best Actress" and Armando Balcazar won "Best Actor" as well as Graham Smith winning a "All-Star Cast" award. The troupe will now prepare for the next level of competition on February 7 at Massaponax High School.​

  


This past Saturday the Forensics Team competed in the VCFL Tournament here at AHS. AHS won the 2nd Place Trophy with 12 students, moving on to State Competition in March.

Zak Robbins placed 1st in Extemporaneous

Rajaah Alagib placed 1st in Original Oratory

Marie Ungar placed 3rd in Oral Interpretation

Emma Abraham placed 4th in Dramatic Performance

Grayson Leflin placed 5th in Dramatic Performance

Katy Haden place 5th in Original Oratory


Other state qualifiers are: Emily Chang, Afrika Lambert, Eva Nelson, Henry Sackett, Alex Gaither, and Baylina Pu. Ian Waite, Sarah Dizon, and Julia Culberth won awards in the competition back in November, enabling them also to compete in state finals. The team has one more qualifying tournament on February 3.
