Albemarle County School Board Adds Five Meetings to Its May Schedule

(ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Virginia) – The Albemarle County School Board has added five meetings to its schedule for May. The meetings will occur on three separate days.

In addition to the board’s regularly scheduled business meeting on Thursday, May 11, and its work session on Thursday, May 25, the board will meet twice on Wednesday, May 10; once on Monday, May 15; and twice on Tuesday, May 16.

Both meetings on May 10 will be held in the County Office Building at 401 McIntire Road in Charlottesville. At 2 p.m. in Room 235, board members will discuss the school division’s Capital Improvement Plan appropriations for the current school year. At 2:30, the board will meet jointly with the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors in Room 241. The agenda will include the consideration of amendments to the Voluntary Employee Retirement Incentive Program; a discussion of process and challenges for the county’s Capital Improvement Plan; and a pre-K update involving the United Way.

On May 15, the board’s Student Disciplinary Committee will conduct a closed meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Room 241.

Two meetings will occur the next day, May 16, both at the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center (CATEC) at 1000 East Rio Road in Charlottesville. At 6 p.m., the school board will hold a joint meeting with the CATEC Center Board and the Charlottesville City School Board. At 8 p.m., the school board will hold a work session on the 2017-18 school year budget.
