MONTICELLO PTSO

PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ORGANIZATION

Announcements

This Monday night, April 15 from 5:30 – 8:30, the Albemarle County and Charlottesville City Public Schools will join Safe Schools/Healthy Students in hosting “The Power of Choices: Teens, Decisions and Alcohol” in the Lane Auditorium of the Albemarle County Office Building in downtown Charlottesville.

Featured speakers are Chris Sandy and Eric Krug, two men with personal stories about the ways their lives forever changed after incidents involving drinking and driving. These two men have committed their lives to sharing their stories in the hopes that people of all ages will be inspired to make safe, positive choices related to drinking and driving.

This free event begins with a resource fair, food and door prizes at 5:30 on Monday evening. Presentations begin at 6:30, followed by opportunities for parents and students to select one of three discussions: (1) Talking With Your Child About Alcohol (for parents), (2) Hoos Drinking? (for students) or (3) Contract for Life (for parents and students).

Registration is encouraged and can be found on the Safe Schools/Healthy Students website at: www.safeschoolscville.org
