Note from the Director

Welcome to the Health and Medical Sciences Academy. We are about to launch our first year and there is great excitement and support from the Albemarle/Charlottesville Community. Thank you to our community groups and individuals that serve on the Advisory Board and who continue to provide insight and expertise. For the past sixteen years I have taught Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Medicine, Ecology, and Student Leadership in Albemarle County Schools, and I am thrilled to now be partnering with community businesses in order to provide students with the appropriate knowledge and skills required to be successful in their careers.

I am excited about this opportunity to serve as the Director of the HMSA and appreciate all of the energy and support. We have an enthusiastic group of 23 students ready for the challenge. 2012-13 is off to a great start.
