The AHS Key Club had a great district conference this weekend. Our club competes with other clubs from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and DC in several categories. This year all of our officers, Annie Lopez-president, Danielle Horridge, vice-president, Jennifer Sacco-secretary, and Abby MacKnight-Treasurer received distinguished club officer recognition.
Abby MacKnight was named Club Treasurer of the Year for the entire District.
Our club won Honorable Mention in the Major Emphasis Program for our work with Toy Lift. We also received Honorable Mention for our Club Poster, Second Place for Club Video, and Second Pace for our Scrapbook. Congratulations to Annie Lopez, Danielle Horridge, Mike Pajewski, Kira Aglio and Emily Wombacher for heading up these projects.
Allyson Wharam received the Above and Beyond award which recognizes a non-officer for a tremendous commitment to service.
Mrs. Teresa Tyler was awarded the Hixson Fellowship-one of Kiwanis International’s highest honors. The award is accompanied by a $1000 donation to the Eliminate Project which provides vaccinations for Maternal-Neonatal Tetanus.
Maggie Wilson served as Lieutenant Governor for our division this past year and Danielle Horridge will fill this post for the upcoming year.
