Spotlight

The Albemarle County Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) are operated by the Department of Community Engagement in collaboration with each elementary school.

The EDEP provides a safe and enriching environment for over 1,300 elementary students. These programs are self-sustaining, funded entirely by the tuition and fees collected for their use.

EDEP offerings include the After-School Enrichment Program (ASEP), the Inclement Weather Program and the Student Holiday Program. Any student from Pre-Kindergarten (i.e. Head Start and Bright Stars) - grade 5 enrolled in Albemarle County elementary schools is eligible to participate in all EDEP offerings.

Mission Statement

The primary objective of the Extended Day Enrichment Programs is to provide quality attention, thoughtful guidance, authentic experiences and engaging activities to enhance and expand the learning of Albemarle County students.
