Western Albemarle's "Family Fun Event" will benefit ceramics program
The "Fall into Fun Event," at Chiles Peach Orchard, 1351 Greenwood Road in Crozet, will offer young children, teens and families unique insight into ceramics-making and the opportunity to purchase some wonderful products made by Western Albemarle High School's talented students. The event will take place Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th.
Proceeds from the event are for an excellent cause -- the purchase of a pug mill, which can be used to recycle and use clay from ceramics programs throughout Albemarle County public schools.
On tap for visitors at the Western Albemarle booths are face-painting, pottery wheel demonstrations, a student pottery sale and a do-it-yourself tie dye table. All pottery is good, dishwasher and microwave safe. The booths will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday. Pottery prices range from $8 to $25; face-painting is $3 and tie-dye, which includes a t-shirt, dye and instructions, is $10.
